Today I got to take care of my Dad. i don't know why he and Mom stayed home from work most of the day, but it was nice to have them home. Dad didn't seem himself though and smelled oddly too. I know, because I inspected him thoroughly. Last night he didn't eat anything, but he drank a lot of stuff from a jug, then had to go potty a lot. When he wasn't going potty, he had that scary guitar out. I saw it and ran downstairs to hide on the couch. He did the same stuff this morning, and one time I had to check on him while he was going potty. I don't know why he didn't appreciate it when I decided to try and curl up on his lap.
That was when Mom decided I needed to go outside to play for a while because it was pretty day. I worked on my mole trenches some more, but still couldn't find the mole. I wonder what one looks like? I can smell it but that's about it. Also, while I was outside, Mr. Green, our neighbor did some yard work and scared me so I had to bark at him.
While I was outside, Mom and Dad left for a bit. When they got back, Dad was really sleepy and smelled even funnier! He kept saying funny things like he weighed 667 pounds. Mom and I played some racquet ball outside and went for a walk. When we got back, Dad hadn't moved from the recliner, so Mom and I wrapped him up in a blanket. I noticed he was still wearing his shoes, so I helped Mom take them off of him, then we took his temperature in his ear. Mom left to get some supper and told me to keep an eye on Dad. So, I did and was his "Lucy-blanket" to keep him warm the whole time Mom was gone.
When Mom got back, she and Dad commented on what a good nurse I am when they're sick. I try because they take pretty good care of me. I'm their only child, so I guess it's my job to take care of them too. Now I'm really tired though.
